Developing Perfect Pitch

Postby Elephant on Sat Jan 24, 2009 2:16 am

Hey Morry :)

Is it possible to create a product to improve and train the ears to be able to call out any notes? To get perfect pitch(Absolute Pitch).

From what Ive read there is a region in the brain dedicated to perfect pitch (Absolute
Pitch).

This would be really helpful for singers, musicians, guitarist or anyone who plays an instrument. A HUGE advantage for me to learn guitar or any musician. Some of the most legendary musicians have perfect pitch (Absolute Pitch).

Hi Elephant,

Sorry, that really is not my expertise.

I'm more into the neuro-chemical and psychological influences of said chemicals,
their production and distribution.

Elephant,

There are two sources that I know of for developing perfect pitch. Google David Burge and his courses on relative and absolute pitch. I studied him back when there were only cassettes. Lately I have found a gentleman Claude Johnson who has a great guitar learning site www.gutiargodclub.com. Excellent learning site for any level. He has a section on developing perfect pitch and some great lear training modules. Good luck.
